Welcome to VIBeS, Visually Impaired and Blind Skiers of the Colorado Springs
Community. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to
enhancing the physical and mental health of the blind and visually impaired of
our community.
Our 31st annual Benefit Ski race will be held at Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area on Sunday March 2nd. Registration begins at 8:00. Please get a team together and join this friendly competition.
VIBeS and Sno Jets have hosted the Benefit Race for 31 years in hopes of not only raising funds to support the program, but to show others the capabilities of visually impaired and blind skiers.
This is an amateur ski race in which each racer will compete in a dual slalom format. Skiers of all levels, ages, and visual acuity are welcome to join in the fun. The suggested donation is $200.00 per team and a team can be up to six people, but must have at least one woman and two men. The entry fee supports the VIBeS organization and its members.
We offer recreational and physical fitness activities to individuals with low
or no vision. This includes such activities as downhill and cross-country
skiing, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, rafting, water sports, rock climbing, tandem bicycling and more. If you have any feedback, we'd love to hear from you.
We provide the people, resources, guidance and encouragement for blind and
visually impaired of all ages to venture outside of the darkness into a bright
world of shared vision. VIBeS is a unique partnership between blind and
sighted volunteers with each contributing to the growth and success of the
organization. Please select the new member link if you are interested in
becoming a member or receiving additional information on our organization.
